- Full list of the Blue Flag beaches in Tuscany – 2022
All Tuscan Blue Flag beaches. On 10 May the international Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) announced the list of Blue Flag beaches in Italy for the 2022 summer season. The Blue Flag is an international environmental and ecological award that is given to beaches and marinas. The Blue Flag guarantees a clean sea, a high quality environment and tourism services. The Blue Flag Award is only granted for one year after demonstrating compliance with the Foundation’s strict criteria.
The region of Tuscany comes in second place in the national beach rankings (together with Puglia and Campania), behind Liguria (32 municipalities with the best beaches). In Tuscany this year, 18 beach municipalities with 35 beaches have been awarded the Blue Beach award. A total of 210 seaside municipalities in Italy have been awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of their beaches, representing around 10% of the awarded beaches worldwide.
